New Emergency Center Now Open

For more than 80 years, St. Anthony's Hospital has been part of the St. Petersburg community. With a new major construction project completed, the hospital continues its legacy of meeting the health care needs of the community well into the future.

Patients Visiting the New St. Anthony's Emergency Center Will Notice Improvements Such As:

  •  32 private patient exam rooms
  •  Two critical cardiac care exam rooms
  •  Separate entrances for patients and ambulances
  •  Expedited triage and admissions with the goal of treating patients quicker and more efficiently
  •  Design emphasis on patient privacy
  •  Spacious waiting room with comfortable seating, multiple TVs and wireless connectivity
  •  Meditation room for solace and reflection
  •  Dedicated imaging and lab facilities to expedite diagnosis, including the most advanced CT technology available

"One of the most advanced changes offered by the design of the new emergency center is that we are emphasizing patient privacy with zoned areas for patients and staff," said Patricia Sizemore, vice president of patient services for St. Anthony's Hospital. Both nurses and physicians contributed to the design process. "We are creating our new facility with patient needs and family comfort in mind," said Sizemore. "Careful thought will be given to every element of this significant opportunity to continue our legacy of care and plan for the future of our community." The new emergency center is expected to open in early 2012 on the east side of the historical main building on the hospital complex.
