Cardiovascular Accreditations

Society for Cardiovascular Patient Care (SCPC) Chest Pain Center Accredited Facility
St. Anthony's Hospital is recognized by the Society of Cardiovascular Patient Care as a fully-accredited Chest Pain Center. This accreditation is based on an evaluation of the care and treatment provided to patients who present with heart attack symptoms and includes Emergency Dispatch Services, Emergency Medical Services, the Emergency Department, the Catheterization Lab, Observation Services, In-patient Care, Cardiac Rehab and return to the home. The goal of this accreditation is to improve the care process of patients with acute coronary syndrome (ACS), which leads to better patient outcomes.

Society for Cardiovascular Patient Care (SCPC) Heart Failure
St. Anthony's Hospital has received full Heart Failure Accreditation from the Society of Cardiovascular Patient Care (SCPC). St. Anthony's is the only hospital in Pinellas County awarded the accreditation. To receive this distinction, St. Anthony's Hospital demonstrated its expertise and commitment to quality patient care by meeting or exceeding a wide set of stringent criteria and undergoing an onsite review by a team of SCPC's accreditation review specialists. Key areas in which a facility with Heart Failure Accreditation must demonstrate expertise include the following:

  • Emergency Assessment of Patients with Symptoms of Acute Decompensated Heart Failure-Diagnosis
  • Risk Stratification of the Heart Failure Patient
  • Treatment for Patients Presenting to the Emergency Department in Heart Failure
